China Classification Society
Founded in 1956, China Classification Society (CCS) is headquartered in Beijing and it is a full member of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
CCS is committed to protecting the safety of life and properties at sea and preventing marine environmental pollution, and focuses on the scientific research on water safety and environmental protection application technologies. CCS also provides international-leading technical rules and standards for ships, offshore installations and related industrial products, and offers corresponding classification survey, verification surveys and notarial surveys as an independent third party. At present, CCS has surveyed over 35,000 ships of 200 million GT.
With the authorization of the Administrations of flag States or Regions, CCS carries out statutory survey and other services as authorized by the Administrations according to international conventions, rules, and relevant regulations of authorizing States or Regions.
